Eric Jacky is an award winning freelance photographer living in Eagle, Idaho. His wide range of photographic interests include travel, professional motor sport, feature and portrait photography.
Eric enjoys sharing his passion for photography with others, which led him to form the Camera Club of Eagle in 2008 and the first Alaska Photo Cruise Workshop which will be held in September of 2011
Alaska Photo Cruise Workshops
This week-long Holland America Alaskan cruise in September of 2011 to the Great Land will include a series of workshops designed to help clients learn not only how to use their digital SLR cameras, but how to use various software packages to manage their images (including Adobe Lightroom), how to recognize opportunities and be ready to capture the moment of truth, and finally to actually get out and photograph the last American frontier. The club was designed to provide an educational environment along with a social component that has resulted in a great club experience. With over 30 members the club meets twice monthly and places emphasis on education and group events. Feature Photography
Eric has a portfolio of magazine photo work that includes over 4 years as the principle photographer for lifestyle magazine Eagle Magazine. Eric stepped in as the primary photographer in 2004 and helped build this high end lifestyle magazine. Eric provided most cover photography as well as nearly all of the feature photography. In 2006 Eric started producing photos for Meridian in the Middle magazine, a sister publication of Eagle Magazine.
In 2005 Eric landed the cover shot of one of the largest ATV racing magazines in the United States. ATV Sport chose Eric’s dramatic photograph of off-road racing champion Doug Eichner as their cover for their March 2005 issue. ATV Sport also placed several photos by Eric with their coverage of the WORCS Off Road Series event that took place in Payette, Idaho. Eric’s images have also appeared in Bike Magazine as well as Men’s Health Journal magazine.
Champ Car Racing – 2003-2007: In 2003 Eric began shooting the intense high speed world of professional open wheel racing. A lifelong passion, motor racing is one of Eric’s favorite subjects. In this time frame Eric shot occasional events for world-wide motor sports photo agency LAT Photography, working alongside some of the best motorsports photographers in the country.
